Scary Scenes

You know how Hollywood always depicts moss covered trees to set up a scary scene? I always thought that was silly. To me, the Live Oaks covered in Spanish Moss were a beautiful sight, not a scary one. The hurricane changed that. Katrina blew much of the moss out of the trees, but left insulation, trash and clothing hanging in them instead. Now I pass by the trees every day and am saddened by the sight. The trees also haunt my dreams at night.
Someone once asked me if I dreamt in color and I could not answer them. I never noticed if my dreams were in color or not. Now, I can answer without a doubt. My post Katrina dreams are always in washed out sepia. I think that is why I desaturate so many of my storm damage photos. The color is here. The skies are actually a bright autumn blue right now, but I take the color out of my photos because it does not seem to belong there.
